It was great to see a room full of Rockland community members at the second Rockland community meeting on Monday, February 26. We appreciate the continued involvement and the tremendous enthusiasm and pride Rocklanders share.
Below are a few highlights from Meeting #2. The Alliance will compile the input from meetings #1 and #2 and present back a final draft of the project area, map, vision and priorities along with two sets of recommendations at our third and final meeting on April 22. Please RSVP if you can make it April 22!
First – Compilations from Meeting #1
We presented information compiled from the small-group input activities in Meeting #1 to make sure we got it right. The feedback from Meeting #2 will be incorporated into a second draft of each item presented at Meeting #3.

✧ Meeting #2 Map of Identified Transportation Concerns
Second – Planning Activity: Rural Preservation and Transportation
We reviewed current conditions in Rockland and then drilled down to determine the community’s knowledge of and interest in preserving Rockland’s historic, natural and scenic resources. Community members were then asked for their preference on future development, as well as what types of activities could be considered compatible land uses in Rockland.
Community members provided input through several guided ranking and survey activities. This input will be used to craft the recommendations to present back to the community at Meeting #3 for approval and submission to the county’s comprehensive plan update.
