Page County residents’ input is needed on how and where Page County will grow in the next 20 years in a way that protects agriculture and rural character, supports a vibrant local economy and protects natural resources.
Mark your calendar for October 9 (6 pm – 8 pm) and plan to attend the comprehensive plan public meeting at the Stanley Fire Hall (190 E. Main St., Stanley: directions).
This meeting is an opportunity for community members to ask questions of the planning commissioners, staff, and the subcommittee members who have been updating the plan over the last year. Staff have prepared stations where you can explore goals and policies proposed in the plan.
The meeting will also officially kick off the community-wide survey with questions regarding the specifics in the comprehensive plan.
Resident input is crucial because the comprehensive plan will guide future land use decisions made by the planning commission and board of supervisors.
The draft plan is very good and envisions Page County as a place where we are proud to live. It is divided into nine chapters, with interesting maps and charts to support the information.
1. Overview
2. Regional Setting
3. Natural Resources
4. Population
5. Economy
6. Housing
7. Community Facilities
8. Transportation
9. Land Use
I hope to see folks from Page County at the meeting, and if not, please stay tuned. We’ll send around all the information provided at the meeting along with a link for the community survey.
