Thank you to all the Page residents who came to the comp plan public engagement session on October 9 at the Stanley Fire Hall!
It was great seeing so many interested and engaged people talking with members of the comp plan review subcommittee, writing down thoughts for staff to consider and drawing on the large maps detailing where development should and should not go and opportunities for more trails and sidewalks.
This meeting provided a fantastic opportunity for the community to voice your opinion on how the county should look and what services should exist 20+ years in the future – a vision encompassed by the comp plan and supported by goals and policies.
The meeting will also officially kick off the community-wide survey with questions regarding the specifics in the comprehensive plan.
The survey can be found here. Please fill it out today to and share with neighbors so that the final comp plan can truly reflect the vision of Page residents for the future of the county.
As a reminder, the comp plan serves as an essential guide for the future, providing the framework for land use regulations and decisions, serves as the basis for capital improvements for parks, schools and other public uses, helps determine infrastructure and transportation priorities and details ways to protect our natural and historic resources.
You can read more here on the welcome info board from the public meeting.
What's Next
After review of the public engagement session and the survey feedback, the subcommittee and staff will finalize a draft of the comp plan for consideration, and ultimately approval, by both the planning commission and the board of supervisors. As always the Alliance is tracking the process and will be sure to let you know when there is an opportunity to get engaged.
