Back in fall 2019, Harrisonburg asked for you to share your experience traveling south on Route 11 between Stone Spring and Mosby Road and your thoughts on a couple of design options for the tricky intersection of Pear and Erickson. Now they’ve taken your thoughts and traffic analysis and produced some suggested improvements.
There is a public meeting scheduled for Wednesday February 5, 2020 from 5-6:30pm at City of Harrisonburg Department of Public Works (directions).
There’s also a survey that will be open until February 14. The survey asks, again how you use the routes, and then asks for your rating on the proposed changes.
We supported the Stone Spring connector as a needed east-west route through town close to the town center. Now that it’s been in use a few years, we understand it’s time to evaluate some of its impacts and check in for improvements to any safety or congestion issues. We’re glad the city is working with you, the one who knows your experience best, to decide on those improvements.
