We are excited to present a series of forums for local and state candidates in Shenandoah County districts along with partners Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce, Shenandoah County Education Association and Farm Bureau of Shenandoah County.
All officially registered candidates have been invited to participate and confirmed participants have been grouped into three forum events:
Tuesday, October 8
Wednesday, October 9
Thursday, October 10
About the forums.
The candidate forums are a great opportunity for voters to meet their candidates and ask questions and for the candidates to introduce themselves and explain why they’re running for office. The forums are intended to be civil, nonpartisan discussions of the issues and we hope an informative event for voters. All are welcome to attend.
How does it work?
Candidates will be asked to answer questions submitted by citizens who attend the candidate forums and not the candidate forum organizers. An impartial moderator will select and read the questions and make any subsequent decisions on follow up by the participating candidates. Questions must be submitted in writing by 6:55pm on the day of the event. Doors will open at 6pm and index cards will be provided for attendees to submit questions. All submissions must be in the form of a question and not as a statement or testimonial.
Schedule of events.
6:00pm – venue doors open
6:30pm – meet and greet
6:55pm – deadline for question submission
7:00pm – forum begins
