Do you have a vision for Front Royal 20 years from now? Maybe your future downtown streets are lined with vibrant main street businesses that support a small-town feel? Are there safe pedestrian trails that connect to outdoor recreation opportunities, like a Shenandoah Rail Trail? Or do you envision clean streams lined by established native plants and trees?
Front Royal is kicking off an update of the comprehensive plan, the long-range plan that provides direction for policy makers on future actions from housing to transportation to open space and economics. It is important that community members are involved early and often in the creation of this plan so that growth and development decisions align with the community’s vision.
There will be several opportunities for your input along the way beginning right now with this community survey that both Warren County and town residents are encouraged to complete. This is a great opportunity to get your vision incorporated early.
Front Royal is also hosting a kickoff community meeting Tuesday, November 23 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm and/or from 5:00 pm – 7:00 at the downtown pavilion. You can stop by and meet town staff and the consultants working on the update and learn more about-the 18-month timeline and other opportunities for input.
