From the desk of Kim Sandum
Warm holiday greetings to my Rockingham neighbors! Thank you to so many of you who have given to support the work of our new Alliance. It is truly wonderful to have great colleagues to work with on issues affecting our region.
The upcoming year will be an important one with impacts lasting for years to come. Long term plans for I-81 are in the works – plans that could finally fix traffic problems, or become a lasting scar on the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. We will follow this issue through the General Assembly keeping you informed along the way.
Next year is also expected to be the year that Rockingham County begins revisions to its comprehensive land use plan. This plan will guide future development decisions for the next decade or more. Again, we will follow this issue keeping you informed along the way and let you know when there are opportunities for public input.
As we look ahead to the work we have for next year I want to especially thank those of you who have helped us access matching funds from a generous supporter. We still have time and matching money available for donations of $100 or more. Can you help us reach our goal to access all of the matching money? Donate by midnight on New Year’s Eve to ensure your gift is matched!
