The Alliance once again partnered with Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau of Shenandoah County to host a series of candidate forums for the November 2023 elections.

All officially registered candidates were sent invitations to participate. Candidates were asked to answer questions submitted by citizens who attend the candidate forums. An impartial moderator selected and read the questions and made any subsequent decisions on follow up by the participating candidates. Questions were submitted in writing by 6:15 pm on the day of the event. Cards were provided for citizens to submit questions.

All forums were video recorded for later broadcast by Shenandoah County high school students, in partnership Hank Zimmerman, a Shenandoah County resident with video production experience, including recording and producing the 2021 candidate forum video broadcasts. (Take a moment to read the Northern Virginia Daily coverage on this partnership!)

We are always excited to hold these forums as they are a great opportunity for voters to learn more about their candidates and for the candidates to introduce themselves and explain why they are running for office.
