For the second time this year, Dominion’s proposal for an industrial staging area and pipe yard in rural, agricultural area of Augusta County has been rejected!
In a 4-1 vote on November 1, the Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals denied Dominion’s application for a special use permit in the community of West Augusta. Citizens raised concerns about risks of industrial truck traffic on a Rural Rustic Road, impacts to prime ag soils, frequent flooding, and sediment runoff into nearby Ramsey’s Draft, a clean and clear brook trout stream.
Congratulations to the dedicated community members in Augusta who respectfully voiced their concerns to the Augusta County BZA! And thanks to the BZA members who thoughtfully listened and supported their constituents.
