The Alliance board is proud to join more than 300 local businesses, faith groups and organizations to officially endorse the Shenandoah Mountain National Scenic Area proposal. This grass-roots proposal requests that the U.S. Congress permanently protect 90,000 acres of public land on the George Washington National Forest in Augusta and Rockingham counties as it is – a source for clean drinking water for valley communities, an outdoor recreational haven with existing road access, and a protected habitat for a diverse wildlife.
