Eric earned his undergraduate degree from James Madison University and holds a master’s degree in public safety from the University of Virginia. After graduating from JMU on an Army scholarship, he fulfilled his military service and began a career in law enforcement. Eric served for 17 years with the Virginia State Police in numerous roles and for the past 13 years has served as the Chief of Police for the Town of Woodstock.
Eric is a Paul Harris Fellow and member of the Woodstock Rotary Club, where he served as a past president. He has also served on several other area boards and advisory committees for local, state and federal agencies. Eric’s family lineage dates back 250 years in Shenandoah County and he is a strong proponent for local history and the preservation of our natural resources. He and his wife Amber have two children and live on a small farm just outside of Woodstock. They have participated in conservations programs such as stream exclusions and riparian buffers and remain active in partnerships with a variety of local organizations dedicated to preserving the Shenandoah Valley for generations to come.
