In the last twenty years, Chris served as the Page County environmental coordinator and as executive director of a nonprofit foundation working to protect natural resources and promote sound land use. She has focused on water and soil quality, forest health and strengthening our local ecology and communities. She serves on the Pure Water Forum board, the Shenandoah National Park Association Board and the Blue Ridge Committee for Shenandoah National Park Relations. She has held positions with the Virginia Association of Forest Health Professionals, the Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District and the Shenandoah Valley Northern Regional Commission among other organizations. Chris is a photographer and watercolor artist enjoying painting local historic buildings and native plants, butterflies, trees and other naturalist subjects of the Shenandoah Valley.
