Partnering with members of the County’s business, agriculture, and education communities, we sponsor a series of public forums for Shenandoah County board of supervisor, school board and state delegate candidates. These forums are an excellent opportunity for voters to meet their candidates, ask questions and be more informed voters at the polls.

About the forums.
The candidate forums are a great opportunity for voters to meet their candidates and ask questions and for the candidates to introduce themselves and explain why they’re running for office. The forums are intended to be civil, nonpartisan discussions of the issues and we hope an informative event for voters. All are welcome to attend.
How does it work?
On the day of the forum, doors open one hour before the forum start time for question submissions. Index cards will be provided, and all questions must be written in the form of a question—not as a statement or testimonial. Question cards must be submitted no later than fifteen minutes before the forum start time. An impartial moderator selects and reads the questions, as well as makes decisions about follow-up by candidates.
