Augusta County Comprehensive Plan Update

In October 2025, Augusta County completed an update its comprehensive plan, which will guide growth and development decisions over the next 20 years. The plan looks at all aspects of the county from housing to transportation to open space and economics. (If you need a refresher on the role of a comprehensive plan, you can look back at Nancy Sorrells’ 2020 article Superheroes Need Good Sidekicks.)

The county mapped out a 15-month process that provided several opportunities for public input.

It was important that Augusta County folks participated so that this plan could be a true reflection of what residents want for their community going forward.
