Shenandoah County Agricultural Enhancement
Campaign Launched to Boost Local Food and Local Economy
In cooperation with local farm stands, growers, producers and farmers markets, Shenandoah County residents asked to support our agricultural producers by shopping local and spending $10 of their weekly food budget on locally produced products. Local producers agree the campaign is a great incentive to get people thinking about shopping locally and those impacts.
Local shoppers can sign up to spend at least $10 a week on local food for ten weeks from June to mid-October. Our Eat Local Buy Local Challenge Cards, used to track your local food purchase, are available in local libraries, town offices, cafes or online.
Each family or individual who completes the challenge receives a handsome, reusable cloth grocery bag, created exclusively for this special challenge.
