Save the Knob
Working with Town of Mount Jackson and The Conservation Fund, in 2017 Alliance legacy organization Shenandoah Forum raised the funds to permanently protect over 90 acres of ridge-line known as The Knob. One of the Shenandoah Valley’s signature sights, The Knob elicits deep community connections, plays a vital role in the community’s water supply and is a critical natural resource. In early 2019, The Knob was incorporated into the George Washington National Forest. Because of community-wide support, The Knob is now protected for future generations.
