Virginia Brownfield and Coal Mine Renewable Energy Grant Fund and Program; handbook.
HB 1925 creates a grant program that incentivizes siting renewable energy projects on previously coal mined lands and brownfields, or land that may not be easily developed otherwise because of historical pollution or contamination. The Alliance has long advocated for preference of using brownfields for renewable energy projects so that our agricultural land can remain in production.
